Disabled Disney Princess?

Hey everyone!

First of all, I am officially "discharged" from being a patient in DuPont's Day Medicine. Second of all, you all know how I ADORE Disney (Well I guess maybe not... that will be in this post) and I love being a pioneer of acceptance. Well I was getting excited for my trip for Disney in December (178 days, yes I have a count down) and was planning for me and 6 of my other friends with dwarfism to get a picture with Snow White with shirts on that have Dwarves names on it (Already Got Doc and Grumpy) When I realized that through my life and throughout others, Disney has been lacking in its Diversity of Disney Princesses, no I am not talking about the blondes (there are technically only 3 blonde Disney Princesses) or the lack of races (they only put characters in where their stories fit) but, there are no disabled Princesses. I have been going to Disney and loving the movies as long as I can remember....

My first trip to Disney: 4 months old!!

Second: I must have been 1

Can't find a picture of the third time when I was 4

Or apparently at age 12...

Most recent time... Age 14

When I was a kid, your acceptance seemed to ride on Disney, not sure why, but it did. As other kids my age were pretending to be Disney Princesses, I was not "allowed" to be in the group. So when I'd come home I'd pretend to be a Disney Princess. The only one I really related to was Ariel. I never grew out of the Disney phase, in fact its almost like I got deeper into Disney as I aged, I was always proud of Disney and its diversity and always being a center in my life, a place I am always happy and calm. But now I am at the age where I can see other kids being in my situation and feel sorry for them. I want a disabled Disney Princess, so no little girl has to sit out of playing Princess with her friends, so that all little girls can feel beautiful. Plus, with Disney, it will bring more awareness. Please Share this post with your friends and help get the message across so Disney can see it! Lets make this reality!

Health vs Sickness?

Hey everyone!

Its Sarah! I am in my last day of class today, and then I have 2 days of finals and I am officially a Senior!! WOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! So anyway, I was in health today, taking my final for in here and I came  upon a question True or False, being healthy means you are not ill or prone to illness? And I looked at it for a second and had another question pop into my head. What does healthy mean? What does sick mean?  So according to dictionary.com (Great resource for logophiles like myself) health means: the general condition of the body or mind with reference to soundness and vigor: good health; poor health.
2.
soundness of body or mind; freedom from disease or ailment: to have one's health; to lose one's health.
So according to the second definition, I am unhealthy, so according to dictionary.com sick means 1.afflicted with ill health or disease; ailing.
2.
affected with nausea; inclined to vomit.
3.
deeply affected with some unpleasant feeling, as of sorrow, disgust, or boredom: sick at heart; to be sick of parties.
4.
mentally, morally, or emotionally deranged, corrupt, or unsound: a sick mind; wild statements that made him seem sick.
5.
characteristic of a sick mind: sick fancies.

So I fit one definition of health (1) and one definition of sick (1). Am I healthy? Am I sick? What does my disability mean? And I would fit all definitions for health, if it weren't for the word "disease". Are people who have a physical disabilities unhealthy and sick? Or are they all healthy in their own right? These are the questions I find myself puzzled by... Or for another thought, since people with disabilities are different from their peers, should they all be in the same health class that is adapted for average people?

Well I should get going, I have to head to English soon

TTFN, Tata for now!!!
