Disabled Disney Princess?

Hey everyone!

First of all, I am officially "discharged" from being a patient in DuPont's Day Medicine. Second of all, you all know how I ADORE Disney (Well I guess maybe not... that will be in this post) and I love being a pioneer of acceptance. Well I was getting excited for my trip for Disney in December (178 days, yes I have a count down) and was planning for me and 6 of my other friends with dwarfism to get a picture with Snow White with shirts on that have Dwarves names on it (Already Got Doc and Grumpy) When I realized that through my life and throughout others, Disney has been lacking in its Diversity of Disney Princesses, no I am not talking about the blondes (there are technically only 3 blonde Disney Princesses) or the lack of races (they only put characters in where their stories fit) but, there are no disabled Princesses. I have been going to Disney and loving the movies as long as I can remember....

My first trip to Disney: 4 months old!!

Second: I must have been 1

Can't find a picture of the third time when I was 4

Or apparently at age 12...

Most recent time... Age 14

When I was a kid, your acceptance seemed to ride on Disney, not sure why, but it did. As other kids my age were pretending to be Disney Princesses, I was not "allowed" to be in the group. So when I'd come home I'd pretend to be a Disney Princess. The only one I really related to was Ariel. I never grew out of the Disney phase, in fact its almost like I got deeper into Disney as I aged, I was always proud of Disney and its diversity and always being a center in my life, a place I am always happy and calm. But now I am at the age where I can see other kids being in my situation and feel sorry for them. I want a disabled Disney Princess, so no little girl has to sit out of playing Princess with her friends, so that all little girls can feel beautiful. Plus, with Disney, it will bring more awareness. Please Share this post with your friends and help get the message across so Disney can see it! Lets make this reality!
